General Building Accessibility
Pacific Science Center is committed to ensuring that all guests have a safe, comfortable, and engaging visit. Guests can visit the Main Entry Information Desk for guidance or questions.
Parking and Drop-Off
Accessible drop-off is available along Sue Bird Court between the Science Center and the Children’s Theater. This location is recommended for guests with mobility challenges or larger vehicles.
Disabled parking is available in the Claypool Memorial Garage. Guests should be aware that the garage elevator is currently out of service and that the garage is managed independently from PacSci, so it is helpful to plan extra time for parking and elevator access. Contact the Claypool Garage with feedback.
Elevators and Wheelchairs
Guests can use the courtyard elevator to reach the PACCAR IMAX Theater and other upper-level areas.
Wheelchairs are available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the Main Entry Information Desk. A valid form of identification is required as a deposit. Guests are encouraged to request a wheelchair in advance if possible, especially during busy times. Staff can also retrieve wheelchairs from any location within the center.
Theater Accessibility
PACCAR IMAX Theater is wheelchair accessible and accommodates six wheelchairs and reserved companion seats.
To access the PACCAR IMAX Theater via wheelchair, go to the glass elevator just outside our Grossology Bathrooms and go up one level.
Closed captioning is available for some movies, which is indicated on each listing. If closed captioning is needed, please speak with our theater staff at the show.
Aides and Companion Policies
Guests accompanied by an aide receive complimentary admission. It is recommended to request this at any entrance or to call Guest Services ahead of time to streamline your visit.
Restrooms, Drinking Fountains, & Amenities
Restrooms and drinking fountains are wheelchair accessible and located throughout the center. Changing tables are available in all restrooms.
Service animals are welcome throughout the center. Benches are provided throughout interior and exterior areas for rest and comfort. Guests with strollers or mobility devices can store them safely by asking a staff member for assistance.

Sensory-Friendly Hours
We offer Sensory-Friendly Hours to provide a calmer, more accessible environment for visitors of all ages. During these times, we adjust lighting and sound and modify hands-on activities and exhibits to ensure a welcoming, engaging experience. We encourage families and guests to plan their visit around these hours if a quieter experience would be helpful. See upcoming event dates.
Sensory Lounge
Our Sensory Lounge in Exhibits East is a quiet retreat where guests can decompress, regroup, and engage with exhibits at their own pace. We continually update the space with features like sound mitigation, calming lighting, accessibility-focused furniture, and interactive experiences to support different sensory needs.
Sensory Kits
We provide sensory kits at the Main Entry to help guests customize their visit. Kits include noise-cancelling headphones, ear plugs, fidgets, sand timers, sunglasses, and activity books. Our staff are happy to explain how to use these tools to make your visit more comfortable.
Specialized Summer Camps
Our summer camps are designed to make science accessible and engaging for every child.
Girls-Focused Camps provide a space for girls and non-gender-conforming youth to explore STEM, build confidence, and connect over shared interests. Boys and male-identifying children are welcome to join if they feel comfortable in the group.
Sensory-Friendly Camps are tailored for campers with extra sensory needs, featuring smaller groups, low-stimulation activities, and additional resources such as fidgets and noise-dampening headphones. Any child can register for these sessions.
