Enjoy a live, immersive presentation in Pacific Science Center’s Willard Smith Planetarium. Blast-off to the outer reaches of the universe, or explore the planets in our own solar system. Discuss current astronomy news and learn about recent discoveries. Each show is live and presenters can modify the program based on interest. There is always something different to experience!

Planetarium Schedule & Shows

Shows run for 30-40 minutes.

Preschool All Stars – Written with our youngest guests in mind this show is an opportunity for children of all ages to be introduced to the wonders of astronomy. Guests interact with the sky and space in the planetarium through dance, song, and storytelling.
Best for ages 2-5
10:30 a.m.
The Planets – Fly through the rings of Saturn or discover the largest the largest volcano on Mars! Take a tour of the solar system while learning about some of the exciting places that share our neighborhood in space. The show is live and interactive so no two presentations are the same. Have a questions about the planets? Our educators look forward to exploring answers with you!Weekdays:

Weekends:
11:30 a.m.
Sky Tonight – Focusing on naked-eye astronomy, Sky Tonight will help guests learn how stars can be used for navigation and how to search for other seasonal wonders in the night sky. We’ll explore current visible sky events and take a closer look at some celestial objects only visible through a telescope.Weekdays:

Weekends:
2:30 p.m.

Ticketing

All planetarium shows are included in General Admission tickets, but require timed tickets.

To reserve your tickets, all guests must buy General Admission tickets and can be included in your purchase under “Add-on Experiences” in the General Admission online process. Planetarium shows tend to sell out quickly and will not show under “Add-on Experiences” if sold out.
