Discovering Camp in South Seattle

Summer is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time for kids to embark on exciting educational journeys. Pacific Science Center summer camps are designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Camps For Curious Minds proudly presents its engaging and innovative STEM camps across six locations, including Salish Sea Elementary.

Exploring Salish Sea Elementary

Nestled in the heart of Othello Square, Salish Sea Elementary School welcomes campers to a dynamic and supportive environment primed for exploration. Boasting open classrooms flooded with natural light and a secure fenced play area, this location provides the ideal backdrop for summer adventures. Notably, its ability to accommodate prekindergarten sets it apart, offering an experience tailored to our youngest learners.

At Camps for Curious Minds, we ask that all students, including those enrolled in PreK, are at least 4 years old and fully potty trained before their camp week starts.

Enhancing the Camp Experience

Salish Sea Elementary hosts open classrooms filled with natural light, and a fenced-in play area. The facilities also hold the unique ability to accommodate prekindergarten with shorter tables, chairs, and bathrooms. These attributes create an ideal environment for our summer camps.

This location also has access to Othello Playground, a nearby field where campers can enjoy outdoor games and activities, providing ample space for spreading out and engaging in active play.

Community Engagement

The charming and diverse Othello Square neighborhood setting enriches the camp experience. With easy access to the Light Rail and situated within a community-centric area, our camp aims for inclusivity and engagement with the surrounding community.

The neighborhoods within South Seattle are known for their strong sense of community. Residents actively engage in community-driven initiatives, neighborhood events, and local activities that foster a sense of belonging and unity. This close-knit community spirit encourages collaboration, support, and a shared commitment to making the area a better place for everyone.

Camp Session Offerings

Salish Sea Elementary offers summer camps spanning PreK to 5th grade, ensuring age-appropriate experiences for all. Inclusivity is paramount, with sensory-friendly sessions and girl-focused programs empowering every camper. These initiatives aim to foster confidence and curiosity while promoting gender equity in STEM.
