Construction Update: Removing Our North Gates

We’re getting ready to take an exciting step forward into the next chapter of Pacific Science Center’s history.

On January 20, we’ll begin removing the gates and ticket booths at our north entrance, honoring the original vision of renowned architect Minoru Yamasaki. Originally built for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair, Yamasaki designed our iconic courtyard and arches to be a public space for gathering, reflection, and exploration.

Construction Timeline

January 20–February 2026

Construction is underway through the end of February. Temporary pedestrian routes and detour signage are in place to guide you safely to our entrance.

Starting January 26, temporary walking paths will be in effect. During construction, our regular General Admission schedule remains the same: Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
