About the Movie

Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Arctic: Our Frozen Planet is an epic adventure across the magical realm of snow and ice at the top of our planet. For millennia, its steady seasons have allowed life to thrive. But global warming is upsetting this balance, and scientists are discovering that what happens here, affects us all.

About the Speaker

Ian Joughin is a glaciologist at the University of Washington’s Polar Science Center. He is an expert in the study of ice sheet dynamics and has conducted extensive research on the effects of climate change on glaciers and ice sheets. His work has contributed significantly to our understanding of how these icy regions are responding to global warming.
