About the Movie

Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Arctic: Our Frozen Planet is an epic adventure across the magical realm of snow and ice at the top of our planet. For millennia, its steady seasons have allowed life to thrive. But global warming is upsetting this balance, and scientists are discovering that what happens here, affects us all.

About the Speaker

Eric Regehr is a Principal Research Scientist at the University of Washington with over 20 years of experience studying wildlife. Specializing in polar bears, Eric seeks to understand the effects of climate warming and provide scientific advice on sustainable harvest. He authored the first studies documenting negative impacts of sea-ice loss on polar bear survival and currently leads polar bear research on Wrangel Island, Russia. In addition to science, Eric enjoys helping diverse groups representing governments, nonprofits, and Indigenous organizations resolve difficult issues in wildlife management.
