We’re thrilled to welcome you to Pacific Science Center for a meaningful volunteer experience! Your contribution directly supports our mission to ignite curiosity and inspire lifelong learning.

Currently, volunteer opportunities are invite-only and reserved for Pacific Science Center’s Corporate and Educational Partners. To learn how to become a supporter, visit our Corporate Support Page or contact us.

What Volunteers Do

Volunteer opportunities help us create engaging experiences for guests and keep our operations running smoothly. Activities may include:

  • Facilitating STEM activities on the exhibit floor
  • Speaking at summer camps or special programs
  • Assisting with operational, administrative, or cleanup tasks

Background Check Process

PacSci is required to conduct or confirm background checks on all volunteers. These must be completed 10 business days before the volunteer activity. There are two options:

Option 1: Background Check Attestation/Verification Form

For One-Day Individual or Group Volunteers

If you are volunteering on behalf of a corporation, your organization can sign a Background Check Attestation Form confirming that you (and any group members) have undergone background checks at the time of hire.

Option 2: Sterling Background Check

Pacific Science Center can perform a new background check through Sterling.

  • Takes 3–5 business days to complete
  • Costs approximately $38 per person. If your organization can cover this cost, please let us know and we’ll send an invoice.
