SCHEDULE AND PRICES
THIS SPRING AT CAMP-IN:
  • Molten Mountains: Volcanoes in our Backyard and Beyond - Explore out-of-this-world eruptions in this 45 minute hands-on science workshop. Create a shield volcano to discover how volcanoes like Olympus Mons form on Mars and how they differ from Washington state volcanoes such as Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. All workshops are led by Pacific Science Center's experienced and enthusiastic teaching staff.
  • Facing Mars (Jan 30-May 9) - Would you go to Mars if given the opportunity? Here's your chance to experience the sensations, emotions and conditions of a real trip to Mars, without ever leaving Earth. Build your own simple rocket, take a "Mars walk," see firsthand what microgravity does to the human body and so much more. This exhibit is packed with more than two-dozen intective experiences to entertain and educate guests (and future space travelers?) of all ages!
  • Monster Science - Live Science Demonstration.
  • Volatile Volcano Bingo for Prizes.
  • Live Laser Light Show featuring The Beatles, Jackson 5, U2 and The Imperial March from Star Wars.
SAMPLE CAMP-IN SCHEDULE

Evening:
6 p.m. - Arrive, Check-In, Store gear and attend Welcome Program.
7:00-11:15 p.m. - Camp-In Activities
  • Exhibit Exploration
  • Workshop: see your workshop ticket for time and location
  • Demonstrations at 8, 9 and 10 p.m.
  • Planetarium Shows at 7:30, 8, 8:30, 9, 9:30, 10 and 10:30
  • Snack: 8:15-9:15
  • Volatile Volcano Bingo for prizes at 8:30 and 9:30
  • Dance with the Dinosaurs: 10:45-11:15
11:15 pm - Gather your gear, set-up camp-site and get ready for bed.
Midnight lights out.

Morning:
6:30 a.m. - Wake up, pack up and store gear
6:45 a.m. - Breakfast
7:30 a.m. - 3-D Mars Image Gallery and Laser Light Show
8:30 a.m. - IMAX film
9:30 a.m. - Gather your gear and depart

BASIC RULES AND GUIDELINES
  • We require a 1:6 adult to child ratio, and children must be chaperoned at all times.
  • Participants are expected to stay at Pacific Science Center throughout the Camp-In. For the safety of everyone, the Camp-In is in lock-down from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. During this time participants may leave only for an emergency and re-entry will not be permitted.
  • No food is allowed in the Exhibit Areas; food must be eaten in Pacific Science Center's outdoor courtyard.
  • Each Camp-In has a set age requirement; younger children (including infants) will not be admitted to Camp-In.
WHAT TO BRING
Camp-In is for one night only, so we request that you travel lightly.
  • Sleeping pad and bag.
  • Toiletries (basic necessities only).
  • Comfortable clothing that you can wear overnight and that is appropriate for the weather. Please remember that meals are served outdoors by the fountains.
  • Money to purchase a Camp-In t-shirt or souvenirs in the Pacific Science Center Store!
  • Please do not bring: tents, cots, air mattresses, hair dryers, curling irons, electronics or alcohol.
