Experience Pacific

This Spring...
- Candy
Chemistry: Savor the
Science! - Exclusive Camp-In
Workshop - Start
with a favorite treat, add mind-boggling chemical and
physical reactions, and watch what happens! Subject gooey
goodies to a variety of variables - extreme temperatures,
saturated solutions and our own special candy catalysts -
with spectacular results. Savor the sugar-coated side of
science as you investigate the reactive realm of
chemistry! All workshops are 45 minutes in length, and
are led by Pacific Science Center's experienced and
enthusiastic teaching staff.
- GPS Adventures - Featured Exhibit (For Camp-Ins between March 28 and April 24) Get lost in the maze and learn how to find your way using GPS! Simulate a GPS adventure using a unique stamp card that leads each visitor to their own Treasure City. By collecting all four stamps, you will successfully simulate how a GPS unit locks into four satellites to determine a location. But wait, you're in a maze! After navigating around impassable obstacles including waterfalls, cliffs, and ravines, you'll solve cache puzzles in four environments: city, park, back-country, and a historic site, and uncover secret codes that will gain you access to other exciting and educational experiences throughout the exhibit.
- Animal Grossology - Featured Exhibit (For Camp-Ins after May 23) Oozing with disgusting science and interactive learning games, Animal Grossology contains solid science and introduces it in a way that makes kids giggle. You may think leaches are pretty gross, but they're used after some surgeries to assist in the healing process. Did you know that cows are one of the gassiest animals on earth? Learn why the dung beetle is nature's living pooper-scooper and why scientists are studying slug and snail slime production for clues in treating cystic fibrosis.
- Unstable Elements -
Live Science Demonstration What could be more exciting than heat,
light, gas, and color change? Pull apart molecules and
learn the chemistry behind colored fire, fountains of
foam, and flaming dollar bills! Marvel as our expert
demonstrator shows you chemical reactions in action!
- IMAX® Film and live Laser Light Show
- Plus
a private opportunity to
explore Pacific Science Center's world class collection
of hands-on
exhibits - all night
long!
This season we are offering a new meal service package. In place of the traditional Camp-In dinner, a hot snack (pizza pocket) will be served to all participants between 7:30 and 8:30 pm. We suggest campers eat dinner before arriving for Camp-In; however, as this is logistically challenging for some groups, an optional snack pack will be available for $3.50 per person which may either be pre-ordered or purchased the night of the event. The snack pack will provide campers with all of the items traditionally served at Camp-In dinner and snack, including a cookie, chips, carrots, granola bar, and juice. No substitutions will be available. Participants may bring additional food if they wish, provided it is eaten outside in the designated eating area. Special diets are the responsibility of individual campers.
After registering, use this →online form to pre-order snack packs for your Camp-In.
