Happy 100th Birthday To A True Community Treasure
Congratulations to Pacific Science Center Director Emeritus John Davis on 100 journeys around the sun! Reaching your 100th birthday would be quite an accomplishment for anyone, but Mr. Davis has done so much for our community over the years, this is just another in a very long list. His love of science and education have helped him build a lasting legacy.
Passionate about science since fabricating his own crystal radio set as a child, Mr. Davis was instrumental in establishing Pacific Science Center as a nonprofit in 1962.
A lawyer, Mr. Davis founded the firm now called Davis Wright Tremaine and served on many boards, including the Mercer Island School Board. In that role in 1960, he handed out a diploma to Stanley Ann Dunham, who would become the mother of President Obama. Read about Mr. Davis' remarkable century in the Mercer Island Reporter.
Thank you, John Davis for sharing your remarkable life with all of us.
